Cops offer tips in wake of burglaries, thefts / Blood drive Saturday / Holiday Cards for Heroes

Police offer preventive tips in light of “uptick” in burglaries, vehicle thefts              With at least four residential burglaries and three vehicle thefts in the past three weeks, Buffalo Grove Police have listed some preventive measures at this link.             Tips focus on things residents can do if they plan to travel during the holiday season.  In addition to vehicle thefts and home burglaries, the department also reports a slight increase in the thefts of catalytic converters from cars. The department notes that for the first 10 months of 2023, Toyota Priuses and Kia Souls are the most vulnerable.             Police officials say burglars are not targeting any specific items as they generally go after jewelry and “whatever they can get their hands on quickly.”             Residents are urged to call 9-1-1 if they see suspicious activity.
