  Residential burglary – Police are investigating a burglary to a home in the 1000 block of Brandywyn Lane. Reports indicate burglars apparently gained entrance to the home through the front door. Police say several rooms were ransacked. According to reports, miscellaneous currency and jewelry were taken. Business burglary -- Police are investigating a burglary to a business in the 1300 block of west Dundee Road. Reports say the front glass door was shattered and left partially open. Reports also indicate that the front display case appeared to have been opened and items were missing. Some merchandise was found on the sidewalk outside. Battery – Police called to a business in the 600 block of Deerfield Parkway following a report of an employee altercation that resulted in charges against one man. Work begins on Wild Fork

The on-again, off-again saga of Wild Fork, a meat market that carries a variety of traditional and nontraditional meats and seafood has been resolved.             Village officials confirmed Wednesday that the market has been issued permits to do construction on a 4,000 square foot space at Lake-Cook and McHenry Roads.             Despite what was posted on social media, the issues surrounding the store deciding to build on the site had nothing to do with the village, but involved negotiations between the  GW Properties, the site’s developer/owner and Mid-America Real Estate Corporation which specializes in leasing retail properties.  Mid-America is the leasing agent for The Grove, the plaza on the northeast side of Lake-Cook and McHenry roads that is anchored by Jewel-Osco.           While no exact date for completion of Wild Fork has been determined, a source told BGNI that a February openin...

  Criminal damage -- A resident in the 800 block of Thompson told police that her vehicle was damaged by an unknown person who wrote a racial slur on the trunk and passenger side rear fender of her vehicle. Theft – A resident on Indian Spring Lane said someone took political signs from her front lawn. The resident said three Harris/Walz political signs were missing from her front lawn, and were replaced with Trump signs, which she threw away. It apparently did not have an impact on the election. Minty theft? – 700 block of Weidner Road. A resident told police that a package delivered to them and left in the mailroom of the building was taken. The item reported missing was mouthwash. No reports if investigators are scoping out the scene. Motor Vehicle Theft – A resident in the 1400 block of Johnson Drive told police that his 2020 Infiniti SUV was missing from the parking lot. Sunroofs targeted / BG Days success / Veterans to be honored

Police are investigating two incidents of criminal damage to cars in which the sun roofs were smashed. The first case occurred in the 400 block of south Buffalo Grove Road. Reports say officers were told that someone broke the sunroof on a resident’s 2014 Infiniti Q50. The resident told police that it did not appear anyone went inside the vehicle and nothing was missing. The second incident took place in the 200 block of Golfview Terrace. Like the first incident, the resident said his car, a 2018 Infiniti Q50, was broken into through the sunroof. It was unknown if anything was taken. Reports did indicate that surveillance video spotted “several subjects dressed in black breaking the sunroof.” Reports also note that one person entered the vehicle through the sunroof.
