Budget vote set at Monday’s Village Board meeting

The Village Board is expected to vote on the 2019 budget at its meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday in the Jeffrey Braiman Council Chambers at Village Hall. The proposed budget was discussed at the Board’s Nov. 5 meeting. The proposed budget can be found at 2019 Village Budget . The Board is also scheduled to honor outgoing State Rep. Carol Sente (D-59) and longtime Village Attorney Bill Raysa. Village urges caution as snow removal continues

Winter emergency operations continue through today. Motorists are urged to avoid unnecessary trips while Public Works crews work to clear streets. For the most up-to-date travel information, visit lakecountypassage.com. Approximately 1,000 ComEd customers in Buffalo Grove are without power. The Village is working with ComEd to expedite restoration. Village report approximately 7 inches of accumulated snow, with drifting in some areas that exceed that total. The Public Works Department has been on the streets since Sunday afternoon plowing, and salting and will continue through assigned routes until all snow has been removed from the Village-owned and maintained roads. Due to the “heavy” nature of this snow event, there are many low hanging tree limbs and broken tree bran ches that have made snow plowing more difficult. Forestry staff will be mobilizing this morning to begin cutting and clearing dangerous tree limbs as snow plow staff continue through their routes.

District 103 plans late opening Monday

Stevenson, Dist. 102 schools plan late openings on Monday

According to the Emergency Closing Center Emergency Closing Center , Stevenson High School will open at  10:30 a.m.  District 102 schools are opening three hours late. Additional information may be available at the districts' respective websites.  Stevenson's website is: D125.org while the District 102 website is D102.org

School district 21 schools closed Monday

According to the Emergency Closing Center, School District 21 schools will be closed on Monday, Nov. 26.  Emergency Closing Center . Information has not been posted on the District 2 website as of 9:25 p.m.  That site is ccsd21.org

District 96 schools closed Monday

Village issues statement regarding today's snow storm

The Village of Buffalo Grove posted the following on various social media outlets today: A winter storm event is predicted to begin this afternoon and continue through Monday morning with accumulations ranging between 6” – 12” inches before it is finished. The Buffalo Grove Public Works Department is prepared and will be responding throughout the entire event to clear snow from all Village owned and maintained roads. Residents should use caution when driving and allow for longer than normal travel times. The Village of Buffalo Grove parking restrictions will be in effect for the duration of the storm event, and residents should remove all vehicles from the roadway. Residents should report all immediate storm concerns to the Public Works Department at 847-459-2545 during normal business hours, or the Police Department non-emergency number at 847-459-2560 after hours.
