Approximately 1,000 ComEd customers in Buffalo Grove are without power. The Village is working with ComEd to expedite restoration.

Village report approximately 7 inches of accumulated snow, with drifting in some areas that exceed that total. The Public Works Department has been on the streets since Sunday afternoon plowing, and salting and will continue through assigned routes until all snow has been removed from the Village-owned and maintained roads.

Due to the “heavy” nature of this snow event, there are many low hanging tree limbs and broken tree branches that have made snow plowing more difficult. Forestry staff will be mobilizing this morning to begin cutting and clearing dangerous tree limbs as snow plow staff continue through their routes. The primary focus of work will be completion of the snow removal, before assigning staff to assist with the tree limb related issues.

Village wide parking restrictions remain in place until all snow has been removed from the roadways.

Residents should report all immediate concerns to the Public Works Department at 847-459-2545 during normal business hours, or the Police Department’s non-emergency number at 847-459-2560.
