Mobile DMV event today

 Friday, March 31

Residents will be able to gain access to services related to driving and motor vehicles at a “Mobile DMV” program from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday, March 31 at the Vernon Township Community Services Building, 2900 Main St. in Buffalo Grove.

Sponsored jointly by Secretary of State Alexi Giannoulias, State Rep Daniel Didech and State Sen. Adriane Johnson,  the event will offer the following services:

·         Renewal and corrections to driver’s license for drivers under 78 years of age.

·         Renewal and corrections to state identification cards for holders under 78 years of age.

·         License plate stickers

·         Motor voter registration with driver’s license or identification card renewal.

·         Organ donor registration with driver’s license or identification card renewal.

Cash will not be accepted for payment if fees and Real ID applications will not be processed at this event.

Buffalo Grove Police are continuing their investigation into a pair of residential burglaries that occurred during the week of March 19.             The first burglary was in the 200 block of Willow Parkway and occurred when, reports say, the homeowner was “lured outside” by a man posing as a ComEd worker. Reports say that while the homeowner was outside, other individuals entered the home and took unspecified personal items.             Reports for the second burglary indicate that it occurred in the 200 block of Navajo Trail. While limited details were provided, reports say the resident told police they left the home for a few hours and found the home burglarized when they returned home.  Reports say “personal items” were reported missing. Package swiped – A resident in Villa Verde condominiums reported that a package delivered by FedEx was delivered to the lobby of one of the buildings, but its contents were removed by an unknown person. “To the little kiddos who left too early”   As the investigation into the apparent murder-suicide of five people continues, neighbors express grief and shock as investigators try to figure out what led to the deadly event. Buffalo Grove Police Chief Brian Budds called the scene “horrific.” Details about the investigation are being kept under wraps.  The Lake County coroner has completed autopsies on all five victims and reports that all five victims died from “sharp-force injuries.” Board meeting Monday The Village Board meets at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Village Hall 50 Raupp Blvd. Among the items the Board is expected to vote on is the 2023 Budget, which, according to the Countryside Reminder   calls for a 6.6 percent increase, but does not increase the village's portion of property taxes. Attempted murder charges filed / Domestic violence and firearms forum topic / Concert goes country

  Attempted murder charges filed -- Two Palatine men were charged with Class 1 Attempted Murder following a stabbing on Wednesday, June 28 in in the 600 block of Trace Drive. The men charged are Ryan Bruce, 33, and Ryan Neises, 20.           According to police, officers were dispatched to an apartment for a report of a person who had been stabbed. Police located a person who was bleeding from lacerations in the arm and a puncture wound on the back. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery and is recovering according to police.          Buffalo Grove Police were able to identify two suspects who were known to the victim. Police say the victim had a previous altercation with one of the suspects and was spotted by the suspect near the Burger King restaurant at 1515 W. Dundee Road. Police say the victim was followed home where the stabbing took place. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arriving.          Bruce and Neises were taken into custody by Buffalo
