“To the little kiddos who left too early”   As the investigation into the apparent murder-suicide of five people continues, neighbors express grief and shock as investigators try to figure out what led to the deadly event. Attempted murder charges filed / Domestic violence and firearms forum topic / Concert goes country

  Attempted murder charges filed -- Two Palatine men were charged with Class 1 Attempted Murder following a stabbing on Wednesday, June 28 in in the 600 block of Trace Drive. The men charged are Ryan Bruce, 33, and Ryan Neises, 20.           According to police, officers were dispatched to an apartment for a report of a person who had been stabbed. Police located a person who was bleeding from lacerations in the arm and a puncture wound on the back. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital for emergency surgery and is recovering according to police.          Buffalo Grove Police were able to identify two suspects who were known to the victim. Police say the victim had a previous altercation with one of the suspects and was spotted by the suspect near the Burger King restaurant at 1515 W. Dundee Road. Police say the victim was followed home where the stabbing took place. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arriving.          Bruce and Neises were taken into custody by Buffalo

Misunderstood gun shots? / Ukraine relief / Congressional art contest

  Police were summoned to the 800 block of Trace Drive on reports of a suspected catalytic converter theft in progress and possible shots fired. The victim and complainant called 911 to report they observed three black males wearing black masks stealing his catalytic converter off his vehicle. Police reports say officers were told that they misunderstood and no shots were fired and no one was injured. No suspects were found. In  an unrelated incident,  police report that a resident reported that the catalytic   converter   was   stolen   from   his   Nissan   NV200. Reports said the vehicle  was parked  lot   at   his   apartment   complex  on Weidner Road. Retail theft --  Police report that a person left  Woodman’s with nearly $90 of groceries  without   making   payment. Officers   located   the   person who   was   issued   an   adjudication ticket   and   a   trespass   warnin g .
