Hydrant flushing underway

Public Works crews have started their annual hydrant flushing program. Flushing typically runs from the north to the south portions of the village and, weather permitting, is likely to conclude in early May.

Hydrants are flushed to improve residual disinfectant in our water mains while simultaneously allowing crews to check flows, ensuring hydrants are functioning properly.

Additional information, including a live map of flushing status and neighborhood flushing schedule, can be found here.

Maintaining the four-year accredited status requires BGPD to present proof of compliance across approximately 462 law enforcement standards, reflecting BGPD’s commitment to providing excellent public safety services for the community and setting the standard for excellence not just locally, but across the nation.
