In his message posted on social media, Budds said:
The men and women of the Buffalo Grove Police Department wish to extend their sincere gratitude to the community for their assistance in locating a missing 12-year-old boy, who was found safe and reunited with his family early Thursday morning.
Thanks to the help of thousands of neighbors who shared our post on social media, we were able to quickly spread the word about his disappearance. Your assistance led to a few invaluable tips from neighbors who notified BGPD that they had seen him, leading to his safe return a few hours later.
Your cooperation and vigilance is what makes Buffalo Grove a safe community. We thank those who took the time to share our post, neighbors who reviewed security footage from their homes, and those who called with information. This highlights the importance of a tried-and-true community safety mantra: If you see something, say something. Keeping BG safe takes all of us working together.
