Outgoing B.G. Days chair honored by Village Board

JV Springman, who served on the Buffalo Grove Days Committee for 22 years, the last 16 as chair, was honored by the Buffalo Grove Village Board Monday night. Springman thanked numerous village departments for their cooperation and support. Paulette Greenberg, who served as co-chair with Springman, is expected to continue as chair.

For Prescription Drug Collection

The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) is hosting the second Public Information Meeting regarding improvements to Deerfield Road from Milwaukee Avenue to Saunders/Riverwoods Road at Aptakisic Junior High School, 1231 Weiland Road from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 30. Online Scheduling Available for
Child Safety Seat Inspections
In an effort to streamline the Child Safety Seat Inspection and Installation process, the Buffalo Grove Police Department is now offering an online scheduling service for Buffalo Grove residents to make their own appointments. Child Safety Seat services are offered every other Tuesday of the month, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. Please check the online schedule for available dates. Library Board positions available
The Indian Trails Public Library District, located at 355 Schoenbeck Road, Wheeling, has three open four-year terms (2019-2023) and two open two-year terms (2019-2021). Nominees must reside within library boundaries. For more information call 847-279-2205. The Vernon Area Public Library, located at 300 Olde Half Day Road, Lincolnshire, has three open six-year terms (2019-2025). Retail burglary –  Police report that officers responded to an alarm at Dev Liquors, 1170 McHenry Road. Upon arrival, reports say officers observed two vehicles pulling out of the parking lot. Officers pursued the vehicles at a high rate of speed on McHenry Road, but, say reports, were unable to apprehend them. Reports say the front window of the store was smashed and items inside were in disarray. Robbery investigated / Bob McNeely remembered / Green 53?

  Robbery – Police are continuing their investigation into a robbery in the 1200 Block of Johnson Drive. Reports say the victim told police he was robbed while exiting his vehicle while it was parked in a parking space near his residence. The victim, who was not seriously injured, said two male subjects dressed in hoodies took personal items from him. Police say the two left the scene in a black SUV before they arrived. Theft – A resident in the 400 block of Raphael told police – that a battery was stolen from her front lawn. She told police she saw an unknown male grab the battery and leave in a gray pickup truck. Theft – Police say a resident in the 10 block of Canterbury Lane told them that a woman walked up to the door of a residence and took a package that had been delivered. Retail thefts – A 35-year-old Arlington Heights woman was charged with two felony counts of retail theft after she allegedly stole more than $300 of goods from Woodman’s on two separate occasions

Tipsy potty / Stein out, Johnson in / Bids douse park plan

  Retail theft – Staff members at the Jewel-Osco at 79 N. McHenry Rd. reported to police that an unknown man made off with   $867.71 worth of merchandise. Employees said the man was wearing black and white shoes, blue jeans, a black jacket, a blue mask, and a red and white cap. He reportedly came into the store around 9:30 p.m. and placed a two-liter bottle of soda into a shopping cart and then continued to walk around the store. Reports say police were told the man started taking over-the-counter medication items and placing them into a reusable bag near the rear of the cart. He allegedly placed 29 items into the reusable bag before proceeding to the self-checkout where he only paid for the soda with cash before exiting the store. Battery -- A 42-year-old man was charged with battery after an incident on McHenry Road. Police did not release details. Theft --   A man reported to police that he attached his solar powered phone battery device to the parking lot street light located
