Water, sewer service fees hiked
Buffalo Grove trustees Monday night approved an increase to fees for water and sewer service. According to reporting in the Daily Herald, the 10% increase will go into effect in 2025. The fee would go up by 2.5% every year after that.
Single family homeowners will see their service increase from $17.39 to $19.13 in 2025. Village coffers would see an increase from $2.5 million to $2.75 million as a result.
In his report to the Board, Director of Finance Chris Black noted that “rather than implementing a large 22% increase, staff recommends increasing the existing fixed facility rate by 10% in 2025 and 2.5% every year thereafter. This scenario would increase the single-family residential fee from $17.39 to $19.13 and annual revenue derived from the fee from $2.5 million to $2.75 million in 2025.”

iPass on demand event Dec. 10
State Rep. Daniel Didech (D-59) and State Sen. Adrianne Johnson (D-30) are sponsoring “iPass on Demand” from 3 to 7 p.m. on Dec. 10 to give iPass users the unique and exciting opportunity to exchange their current iPass transponder for a new iPass sticker tag. The event is at 3050 N. Main St. in Buffalo Grove.
The tags are being phased in by the Illinois Tollway to replace the transponders.
According to Didech’s office, the Tollway is participating in several of these events throughout the state as a convenience for residents who are ready to get their stickers. Didech said that “some people prefer the stickers to the transponders, so this is an opportunity to receive a sticker more quickly” and that “residents will be able to pay unpaid invoices and have any fines or late fees dismissed.”
For more information, call Didech’s office at 847-478-9909 or email his office at info@repdidechcom. Information about the iPass program can be found here.
