**** To our readers – We know residents are concerned about crime in the community and have strived to provide you with public information about crime in Buffalo Grove within the parameters of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. However, a change in reporting software and apparent change in policy about releasing public police records to the public has curtailed coverage of routine police activity in Buffalo Grove. Items are often posted with limited information. Additional information is available only through the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, a process that can minimally take five days. We are working with the police department and other sources, including public access counselors at the Illinois Attorney General’s office, to find ways to expedite the release of public information. Thanks for reading.***

Village surveying residents
The Village of Buffalo Grove is seeking input on local government services and the quality of life in the community.
The Village plans to use this data to evaluate satisfaction, assess priorities and benchmark sentiments over time and against other communities both regionally and nationally. Village officials say participation helps shape the future of Buffalo Grove and shares with leadership where investments are needed.
The survey can be accessed at this link.
Conducted every three to four years, the community survey helps measure resident perspectives of Village services and allow the Village to measure its impact going forward. To ensure statistical significance, the survey invitation is mailed to randomly selected households. Surveys were mailed on April 9, and households that receive an invitation are asked to follow the enclosed instructions and complete the survey.
For more information on this process, contact Assistant Village Manager Tyler Grace at tgrace@vbg.org or 847-459-2506. The survey closes on May 21, and results will be available in July.
