**** To our readers – We know residents are concerned about crime in the community and have strived to provide you with public information about crime in Buffalo Grove within the parameters of the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. However, a change in reporting software and apparent changes in policy about releasing public police records to the public has curtailed coverage of routine police activity in Buffalo Grove. Items are often posted with limited information. Additional information is available only through the Illinois Freedom of Information Act, a process that can minimally take five days. We are working with the police department and other sources, including public access counselors at the Illinois Attorney General’s office, to find ways to expedite the release of public information. Thanks for reading.***
